Letter from the Chief
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
As your Fire Chief, it is both my honor and my responsibility to serve the people of LeRaysville. I’m writing to you not just as a public official, but as a fellow member of this close-knit community that we all love and call home.
LeRaysville is a special place—where neighbors know each other by name, where we come together in times of joy and hardship, and where the spirit of volunteerism still thrives. The LeRaysville Volunteer Fire Department is a reflection of that spirit. Our firefighters are your friends, your family members, your neighbors—everyday people who drop what they’re doing at a moment’s notice to respond to emergencies.
I want to thank each and every one of you who supports our department—whether by volunteering, attending our fundraisers, or simply offering a kind word when you see us out and about. Your encouragement and generosity mean the world to us, and they help keep our station running and our community safe.
As we move forward, our commitment remains strong: to protect life, property, and each other. I also ask that we all continue working together to make our town more prepared and more resilient—by practicing fire safety at home, looking out for one another, and supporting those who step forward to serve.
From my family to yours, thank you for your trust and for being the heart of our community. We’re proud to serve you, and we’re always here when you need us.
Warm regards,
Jim Alderson

Mission Statement
To the Citizens of LeRaysville,
As your Fire Chief, it is both an honor and a privilege to serve this community alongside a dedicated team of volunteers who give their time, energy, and heart to protect and serve our neighbors. I want to take a moment to share with you my vision for the future of the LeRaysville Fire Department—a future built on tradition, strengthened by innovation, and driven by our shared commitment to safety and service.
Our Vision
Looking ahead, our primary goal is to ensure that LeRaysville continues to be a safe and prepared community. This means investing in modern equipment, enhancing our training programs, and recruiting the next generation of volunteer firefighters. We aim to build a department that not only responds to emergencies but actively works to prevent them through education, outreach, and community partnerships.
Modernization and Preparedness
We plan to upgrade our current fleet and equipment to ensure we can respond more efficiently and safely to all emergencies—whether fires, medical calls, or severe weather events. We are exploring grant opportunities and community fundraising initiatives to help support these improvements without placing a financial burden on our residents.
Training and Development
Training is the backbone of any fire department. We are committed to providing our members with high-quality, up-to-date instruction that prepares them for the challenges of today’s emergencies. This includes advanced fire suppression techniques, emergency medical response, hazardous materials awareness, and more.
Community Involvement
We believe that the strength of our department lies in its connection to the people we serve. In the coming months, you’ll see more community-based programs, including fire safety education in schools, CPR training, open house events at the fire station, and volunteer recruitment drives.
A Call for Volunteers
Our department thrives because of individuals willing to step up and serve. We are always looking for new members—whether to fight fires, provide support services, or help with administrative tasks. If you’ve ever considered giving back, now is the time.
Together, with your support and involvement, we can build a stronger, safer, and more resilient LeRaysville. Thank you for your continued trust in our department. I look forward to working with all of you as we take the LeRaysville Fire Department into the future.
With gratitude and commitment,
Jim Alderson
